My boyfriend and have been arguing non-stop because of a problem we didn't get through the first time we started dating. The first time we started he would say rude and insensitive things to me usually after hanging out with friends or going to a party. Usually at these he would drink or smoke weed a lot and turn verbally violent. Even after addressing it with him he brushed me off, until one time he stopped for a month and then continued his problem. Over the summer we broke up and stopped talking completely, but after the summer we were forced to spend time together which rekindled old feelings even though I was kinda moving on. Last week, we got in a argument when he made a insensitive joke to my friend when she was talking about getting a girlfriend (he didn't know he was a lesbian.) He said something on the lines of "I guess men weren't good enough for you and I should keep you away from my girlfriend then". My friend looked super uncomfortable and decided to leave, after she left he said it was a joke and that she's to sensitive. Last reason I think I should break up with him is because after the argument about my friend he started bringing up trans people and about how people being gay was okay but being transgender was inhumane. After every argument he continues to say he loves me and he is so grateful to have me in his life. So should I break up with him?
