We've been together for 3 years now, we've had our ups and downs.

Here's the good things, we love each other very much, we have our futures set up together, our families love each other, we work through things together with each other, and we have fun together, we're best friends.

Here's the bad things... We're two completely different people. He's a mechanic and I'm on a 7 year journey through law school. His friends are all doing nothing with their lives and going nowhere fast, along with their girlfriends who entertain themselves with drama. His family morals (racism, judgmental, don't understand mental health, not the most educated of minds) and way of life is sooo different from mine (which I am totally fine with) I just don't want MY future to look completely that way. He will settle for things, where as I will fight for what I believe in. He isn't the smartest of people in the way of common sense or any knowledge greater than jr. high, but when it comes to cars he knows. The issue with this is there's not much to converse about, we can't just have a conversation about anything in the news because of the lack of knowledge. And on top of this I find myself looking at other men differently, like checking them out which I never do cause I have my own boyfriend to look at that way. It just doesn't feel like we're going anywhere. Like were stuck on this straight line moving forwards, when I want to be on a mountain of ups and downs but only working our way up.

Just looking for some advice from the outside.
