I thought the answer to this was obvious, but I recently saw something on twitter that made me realize that many people feel differently.

Basically, it was a political account where someone tells made up but realistic stories about gun owners. The character in this post was a man who felt the need to keep a loaded gun under his bed. His eight year old son found it, and while playing with it, shot himself in the head, and died.

In the comments, everyone was saying that the person deserved jail, and no mercy. My father has an account that he uses for politics, and said that we should feel sympathetic for the parent. I agree with him. I didn’t think it was even a question, but now I want to know what other people.

I’m for gun control, and I don’t think that people with young children should have guns in the house. However, if the child dies, the parent is already living his/her worst nightmare. Their child died because of their own mistakes. No jail time will come close to the pain caused by the loss of a child. I’m sure they’ve learned. The parent doesn’t need to be berated any more. I feel sympathy for a parent who lost their child.

“He said he targeted sexual offenders in hopes of supporting children ‘in pursuit of their dreams,’ writing that kids should be able to live ‘without the threat of pedophiles lingering around them.’”

Knowing that a lot of pedophiles only get ten years in jail. 😞.

Nelson is 18 years old. He has brown skin, brown eyes, curly hair and he's 5'3. Nelson looks like he's 15 he walks down the street at night at 1:00 AM to buy cookies from the gas station. Three police men asked Nelson where are you going? How old are you? Nelson says he's 18. The men asked him can we see your pockets and pat you down? Nelson says no and refuses. The policemen said are you selling drugs sir? Nelson says no I'm not! Go away damn it! The police said you are obviously selling drugs. And try to pay Nelson down but he kept pulling away from them , trying to run off and saying no stop it! I didn't do anything stop it! The police guard tasered Nelson in his stomach. Nelson screamed and passed out. The police arrested Nelson and put him in a temporary jail cell. Nelson started crying and said he was so sorry and please let him out but he wasn't let out till the morning. He got a fine for refusing to obey orders. Nelson had no drugs on him, just 15 dollars
