Do women typically hold grudges? My ex tends to get very angry when we begin talking about issues or differences with how we should raise our child. Case and point, she recently came to me and mentioned that here girlfriend wants to take our 4 year old daughter on a trip to Tennessee to experience the country. I never said anything, the next thing I get is an email that they have purchased the tickets and they are going. When I got the email I immediately called her and told her I was uncomfortable with the decision and the fact that she never came back to me and said they are set to go on this date and are going to purchase the tickets. I gave her several reasons why I was against it. Number one reason was we don’t know anyone in case of emergency, two don't know whose in and out of the house at her girlfriend’s relatives house, and three (based on her level of anger) why was it so important? My ex's response was "An opportunity for our daughter to see the country, and be independent" Oh yeah I forgot to mention that she wants to go to Mexico with her old ex-boy friend. Let me also add this element to the question. We still live in the same house, but are dating other people. My other concern is that with this epidemic going around I don’t think it’s a good idea to be sending a 4 year old on a trip that really isn't necessary? I brought this up to her as well and she became enraged and said what because there an epidemic she shouldn’t travel? Just wash your hands with disinfectant!

I told her if it was about her trip to Mexico then just go and leave our child out of it. She insisted that it had nothing to do with any trip to Mexico but didn’t deny she was or was not going, She tried to use an example about my me traveling all over the country and was thousands of miles away, I didn’t seem to be concerned. I responded that at the time my travel was work related, and It was part of what I did for a living. Besides our daughter was at home with you, so it’s not the same scenario.

Bottom line I believe a 4 year old (as of February 2009) should not be that far away from both parents unless it’s unavoidable. The fact that these people are truly not her relatives concerns me even more, and not that all relatives can be trusted either, but I don’t know and neither does she any of the people she is going to see. Furthermore a 4 year old gaining her independents….common!

My question is should I get a court order to prevent this from happening?
