It's very common on here to find older users 35+ putting their ages in the 18-24 bracket or 25-29 bracket.
It's also very common to find younger users (under 18) putting their ages to 18-24 bracket or 25-29 and occasionally (30-35 age range).
I guess what these two different age groups have in common is that they feel that there is an acceptable age, where you're not looked at as "too old" and not "too young".

I'm dating a 24 y/o and my parents don't approve. They haven't even met him. I can honestly say that I have never lied to my parents about anything before. I have always done whatever they asked even if it was unfair. I feel so bad for going behind their backs, but I really like my boyfriend.. He makes me happy. I have been a puppetdoll for my parents for my teen years. I have done things for their happiness, and put my feelings aside as if it was nothing. I always told myself that when I turned 18.. my life will stop being theirs, and it'll become mine. I love my parents, but I have to love myself too, enough to do what makes me happy. I agree that adults should abide by their parents rules as long as they live in their parents household. I'll always respect my parents, clean up the hour, come home at curfew, whatever they want. But I think parents who try to interfere with their adult children's love lives... like telling them who not to date is a bit controlling. I know the age difference sounds bad, but he really is a special guy. Am I wrong?

So I've been talking to this guy for 7 months and things are getting serious. We met when I was 17 and he was 24 so i lied and said I was 18. BUT, I lied 3 times at first he thought I was 20 then I told him that I was actually 18 (I was 17) and then I told him that my birthday was actually tomorrow (when it was actually months from the date) and I was turning 18. I'm afraid if I came clean he'd write me off as a lair but the question isn't if I should come clean it's how I should come clean. I was thinking of something like "I have to be honest with you before we move any further. I have been lying about my age (actually.. my birthday) I was 17 the whole time we talked and I'm sorry if you think I'm a liar or that you can never trust me, and I completely understand if that's the case. I can tell you I'm not a liar and how I'm honest with everything, but I understand if you think this is a deal breaker of some sorts. I am 18 now (haha, I promise I'm not lying this time I'll show you my passport if you'd like.) and if you want to proceed with the relationship that would be great, if you want to end things and just be my friend I also understand"
