My ex and I recently had broken up, throughout the breakup, my best friend (female) had more or less playing both sides of the fence. Asking me for information that come to find, she already had through talking with my ex. And in some cases, knowing things that I didn't even know, not that it would have been any of my business to begin with. While I certainly understand that it is by no means my place to say who can and cannot be friends, I DID ask my best friend how she felt about the situation prior and during the break up, my best friend had said that she and my ex weren't really that close. I then asked if maybe while going through the break up and until my ex and I get to a point where we were on some kind of good terms to cool it on the talking and hanging out. This obviously didn't happen. The way I see a break up is someone ends the relationship, meaning they no longer want to be a part of your life, thus, cutting all ties is a part of that. So now I am feeling a total lack of respect from both individuals, as well as a lack of loyalty from my friend. Haven't even heard from my friend for almost three weeks now. Should I even be conflicted by this or just let it go and cut both off? Any wisdom would is appreciated.

There's this girl I've like for the past 4 years, and we've both told each other how the other means to us and I guess you could say we're almost best friends. Around when we first met, she knew that I liked her, but as time went on, she thought I that moved. When she knew, she didn't like me whatsoever and totally brushed me off whenever I tried flirting with her. Last month, she went through a serious breakup with a guy she was with for around 5 months, and I helped her though it - since her breakup we've been talking every day almost 24/7 (we've sent 500 texts back and forth just over the past couple days). Last week she confided in a mutual friend of ours that she wishes she could like me because of just how much we get along and because she's really attracted to me, but she doesn't know if we could be together because she's not sure about dating younger guys (she's a tiny bit over two years older than me - 733 days, which isn't much at all if you ask me), which is pretty frustrating because nearly everyone I meet says I both act and even look like I'm in my late teens rather than 16. Since I found out we've still flirted a bit, but I feel weird because I don't know what to feel now. I still want to be her friend, because I truly love her even as friend - she's always been someone I could go to talk about things and she feels the same way about me. I asked several people what they thought - some said just move on, whereas other said I shouldn't give up, but I should talk it slow and just maintain our friendship until she can fully recover from her breakup. I don't know if she was just saying she doesn't know about us because she doesn't want to date anyone so soon after her breakup, or if she just feels that way. Our mutual friend told me today that she honestly thinks the only reason she doesn't want a relationship is because of the age and that she actually really like me - her bias is just holding her back from anything right now. What do I do?
