So my boyfriend has been my best friend for 5 years. In high school we dated for about 2 years. Then we broke up for 2 years. Now we've been dating for almost a year again. Best friends through it all, and friends with benefits for a while.

But I just found out I'm high school he cheated on me for a few months before breaking up with me. And he then basically dated the girl for that summer when we were broken up. They were just talking, hanging out, and kissing on the cheek. This girl became my friend once we broke up and was like the main one I leaned on and who supported me through the break up, me never knowing. I suspected he was with another girl but he would never tell me who. After all this time I just found out this month, and we talked through it and everything. I can forgive them, but I don't know if I can get over it and forget it. It sucks bc this relationship we've had now has been amazing, much better than when we were young and dumb, we've been really happy and healthy. I don't want to give that up for something that happened a long time ago, but I can't trust him now (i already have trust issues from childhood trauma!) And i don't want to be that toxic girlfriend who always goes through his phone, i hate that. But that's how I found out, because I suspected it still and it still hurt not knowing and he let me go through his phone so I found out. But since he lied to me for so long it just makes me sick to think it barely affects him now and he never would've told me. Also back then, they broke it off bc he never stopped loving me and realized he never liked her like that he'd just think of me, and he broke his heart talking to other guys. So I don't know. What would you do in my situation?

I am a bisexual female that has always had more male friends than female... Always was permiscuis when i was younger, but remember bisexual...

He is totally freaking out stating that my friends calling or texting in the middle of the night is disrespectful to our relationship but can't give me a good reason... Other than it is disrespectful. So... I asked him these three questions and his only answer is... Because its disrespectful... Can any one answer this for me and make me understand why and also why would it be ok for a girl and not a guy if that's the case...

If my friend calls me because they are bored, at 1 am and I am still awake doing nothing but scrolling fb... What is the harm in talking to them?

Same scene except my boyfriend and I are watching a movie... If I know my boundaries and say something... Hey I'll hit you up tomorrow me and my man are watching a movie.. Where is the disrespect...

Same scene except this time they say... Hey baby girl what you doing I miss you... blah blah... And I tell them look... You don't need to be calling me any more I gotta a man... Where is the disrespect...

Is it a trust issue or possibly a control thing or is he correct?

Recently I have started to notice that my boyfriend phone keeps getting messages/ notification and he is typing often while I’m on call with him. Due to Covid I’m back to my home country and I can’t meet him until I go back. Sometimes he laughs at the message and he wakes up when the phone rings and replys instantly often ( we sleep on call ) I’m worried because I think he is cheating when I confronted he said it’s his cousins in a group chat but I don’t think so. even in past I have seen him texting other girls infront of me. He has always been protective of his phone and doesn’t like it when I see it. He although recently says he regret talking to other girls in past as they were not real but I’m real with him and he only talks to me when it comes to females. But I think he is lying as he has lied to me in past too.
