we get bombarded with axe commercials saying hair is everything, there are a lot of pretty boy types that spend almost as much time on their hair as women now but I want to know if it really matters, I mean I understand if its unkept and looks dirty etc, but my reason for asking is I'm a 19 year old who about a year ago develped a scalp condition where my hair thinned, top sides everywhere looked bad, I shaved it to the skin, not really any other options, I pull it off okay, I'm not jacked or a model but face and head shape work etc. and after an initial panic over the loss I used to it and didn't care. I shave my head I stand out so what? but after reading countless posts on the internet about guys who lost hair young saying you can forget about attractive women the same age now (keep in mind what they said not I) saying they used to get all the girls now get none, that really kills my confidence, I've never had a serious girlfriend or anything close to it really (I lived in a small town with very few options), and marriage young was a big goal of mine, and I admit that looks factor in, I have decent standards-we need to find a person attractive before we can open the door to something more serious I understand women think the same as well and can respect that. But it seems hard to believe to me that just because I don't have hair uptop that girls will usually write me off (as far as a date anyway) So young ladies, is hair that important that it kills a guy's attractiveness if he has none? Have you ever thought a guy with a shaved head was attractive (please don't use celebirty examples) and do you think that with no hair at this age it will make dating or attacting girls much more difficult? Or are those guys who wrote on other forums about how no hair killed their chances just sad people who want to complain about crap on the internet and blame everything on some cosmetic 'flaw'?

Society is changing, and lots of young women (18-25) are now dating older men! (40-80)

I'm 54 years old and my girlfriend is 20 years old. I have been saying an increasingly amount of openness from young women who will date men older than, usually older than her father, sometimes even older than her grandfather!

I have asked my girlfriend and many young women about this, they said that they would "never" date a young man. Many young women have told me this. I think the fact is that young men (18-25) generally are immature and don't respect women, while older men are able to provide an income so it's all based on maturity levels. It now looks like young men will have to wait until 40 years old and over to date young women!

So I have been thinking, since young women now prefer old men, should young men begin to date old women, even old enough to be their mother? Because soon, those will be their only optional partners unless the wait until they're old enough. Would you agree to this or not? I asked young women this also and they all agreed to it!

I ask since women absolutely LOVE men who have their own homes and cars. I'm a 19 year old college student who is also martial arts competitor so that makes very hard for me to find a job that fits my schedule at the moment until my summer break from college starts. So pretty much, I live off of my scholarships (yes, I have plenty of scholarships) money and occassionally some of my parents money in order for me to pay for college and pay some of my own bills. And no, I don't come from a rich family. In fact, I come from an immigrant family who makes average annual income.

I hear all the time here, "I'm shy, no one ever talks to me, etc." It is extremely difficult for a man to approach a woman, in this situation we are talking about a 22 year old woman and we'll say a 45ish man. Both are within dating age, and yes he's probably a little old for her, and she handled it well.

But it would have been safer for him to not speak to her in the first place, he experienced rejection here. One of the comments was "that's why I don't speak to strange women" And there is nothing wrong with that either. But we can't have it both ways, you cannot expect only compatible people to approach you. If you are approachable people will talk to you, if you are not people, usually, won't.

I read another article in a running mag from the perspective of a young woman who had an older man ask her if she needed help with the controls of her treadmill. She rudely blew him off only to realize she actually knew him, but didn't recognize him (he was the father of her friend and was just trying to help)

I understand that age has a factor in both of these stories, but women blow off men all the time regardless of age.

So the question stands should guys speak to women they do not know?
