i met this guy two weeks ago. we basically ended up hooking up, and he asked to take me out on a date but i told him im not looking to date anybody. a week after though we ended up talking (text messaging) because he knows one of my friends and he asked about me a few times and I don't know i just ended up deciding to talk to him since he seemed great. he said we can still be friends and lately weve been planning on hanging out.

anyway today was the third time he suggested for us to facetime each other since the last time i saw him was still the first night we met. i really only facetime my closest friends who are girls because im comfortable enough with them. i look really ugly especially on camera and other than that i think im gonna be awkward and i very much prefer talking in person.

im just wondering if this type of behavior turns guys off. i told him the truth that i dont really do facetime, its not my thing, and i look like shit atm... he still said something about complimenting me and how we need to facetime cos he wants to actually talk. after i said no to facetiming i just brought up when we'll be seeing each other again, trying not to appear disinterested and i do genuinely wanna see him again. i wanna facetime as well but then again im insecure about it.

talking in person is different and certainly easier. i have time to get ready and feel comfortable and confident about myself, and no awkard silences or anything. even with my exes who i was with long term i never liked facetiming, i only used audio when we called each other.

I recently started a new job in an industry I’ve never worked in. I have a guy mentoring me, who has been for the last 4 weeks. I will list everything significant down

- When we had to evacuate for a fire drill, it was raining and he gave me his lab coat to keep me dry

- He said he remembered me from my interview but he only saw me for a few minutes

I told him I did eyelash extensions but none of my friends would let me practice on them. He said “you can do mine if you want”

When he walks past me in the cafeteria he puts his head down and hurries past. The other day, he glanced at me and I smiled but he looked away and walked off.

He looks into my eyes for a few seconds when we talk. I noticed on rare occasions his pupils dilate.

- He has given me a lot of support and compliments about how well I’m picking it up

- He said he thought I was younger than 28

- He has been the only person in our department inviting me to sit with everyone at break time.

- When planning the Christmas do, the manager asked who was bringing their partner and I said I’m single. The guy in question seemed a little more hyperactive and talkative towards me.

Another guy keeps being odd. Today, he asked me if I had invited my crush to go on a walk. The other guy also spoke about me coming to a party and my crush was like “yeah that would be good”

He laughs at most things I say

So there are a few signs that he likes me but I’ve noticed that in the canteen area, when he walks past he will put his head down and hurry past. The other day, he looked at me and I smiled and he practically ran away! Also I text him with a video of some cool stuff and he gave me the bluntest reply. He hasn’t text me since LOL

boyfriend and I are planning to move in together. His mattress is super comfy, so I asked if we would take his mattress to our new place. He confessed that the mattress used to belong to his ex. She gave it to him when they broke up and she moved away.
