Search Results: some people are better off alone

Bear with me I tend to be long-winded. Basically, I'm confused about whether or not this guy likes me, & I don't know what to do, so I need some advice...I'm gonna list some random things he does & you can come to your own conclusions...

*He's MY best friend, but he has never referred to me as HIS best friend.

*He likes to ask me questions a lot to get to know me better & to get me talking.

*He shares a lot of really deep things with me when we're alone...like personal stuff about his family & such.

*He once told me he wants to hear every word I can say, need to say, & even the things I keep quiet about. He has kept to his word on this because he always asks me what I have been up to & wants to hear even the most insignificant details of what's been going on in my life.

*Last time I hung out with him alone we were together for nearly 6 hours. We talked & sometimes were just quiet, but we were together. I’ve told him before that even when we’re not saying anything I like to be with him & so he doesn’t force me to talk or anything. He later said that although I had spoken very little I had said a lot.

*I go to school far away so ^that^ night was the last time I saw him before I went back. It was only going to be 3 weeks apart this time (as opposed to three months) but he said that those last few weeks would feel like the longest. He genuinely looked heartbroken that I had to leave. He always says he hates that I go to school so far away instead of at home.

*When I got back though, he didn’t really seem like he had missed me that much. He didn’t give me an intense, bone-crushing hug like he usually does when I’m away…which I understand because I wasn’t away for too long.

*I made him a mix CD for his birthday, & among the lyrics he said had “spoken” to him were:

-“I miss all the little things. I never thought that they’d mean everything to me.”

-“Baby, I’m still missing you.”

-“When you feel like being quiet, when you need to speak your mind, I will listen”

“You make me smile like the sun……Just the thought of you can drive me wild. Oh you make me smile.”

*At a get-together, his brother saved him a seat next to me when we sat down to eat but he sat somewhere else instead. He later apologized to me & said that he was keeping somebody else company because they were all alone.

*Last time I finally got to talk to him but had to leave quickly & he complained that every time he finally gets the chance to talk to me, I have to leave. Then he offered to at least walk me to my car.

*Idk if I imagine it but he’s very careful about any physical contact with me most of the time. It just seems that he avoids it.

*I think he got jealous the other day because I hugged his brother...he just kinda walked off (not angrily, but he left until I went to get him).

*There are some people who seem to think it’s obvious we like each other but I just don’t see it. My mom thinks he likes me but she doesn’t realize I like him.

There was a girl on G.A.G who said that she was so fed up with guys that all she wanted to do was use them for money. Both men and woman jumped on her and told her that she was an idiot who gave gals a bad name--and rightfully so. I have never used my bad experiences as a reason to treat someone bad. I usually tried to move on and make at least new and somewhat more evolved mistakes.

However, a man who had bad relationship experiences went off about how gals just don’t want good guys, so he was going to use and abuse them, and men all high fived him and some women even agreed.

What is wrong with this picture?

It is the idea that women “get what they deserve” while men are “victims” of manipulative women. In this case aren’t we saying women are smarter than men and should know better while men are dumb and can only be led around by the nose? I don‘t think that and I believe that ideology would be insulting to males….

Or, couldn’t it be that women are just as prone to being victimized OR that men are just as guilty of making dumb choices.

Apparently not. If a woman get heart broken by a snake guys goes ”Well that is what she gets for picking a jerk”

On the other hand, if a guy get goes all out with flowers, candy and expensive dinners and is hurt by the “she didn’t want a nice guy” syndrome, he has all the right in the world to lash out and play the victim card?

Could it be he was chasing a girl not based on her character but on her looks? He didn’t’ investigate to see if she was woman of character who would appreciate a man like him. He put all his pearl before swine and then chose to blame the swine for doing what a swine does.

Newsflash for both guys and gals--dating is a getting to know one another process. It isn’t marriage or an invite into the sack. Women seeking a hubby should at least wait past the first few date before thinking the man has no right to date others. Men, if you are paying money just to land a girl in the sack--try the more direct approach with a hooker--it is more honest and you get exactly what you want.

Otherwise stop with all the bitterness and fingerprinting. Don’t date if you don’t wish to spend money--or do free things--like go to the park or the beach--pack a picnic--a girl who is down to earth won’t mind and may find it more romantic. Isn’t that what you are REALLY looking for?

I have found that people who mature and picked a mate based on things that are real and not superficial end up with them finding what they want--male and female alike.

Stop the blame game on both sides--take responsibility for your actions and stop using the fact that you made dumb choices as an excuse to act like a horrid human being.

Maybe then you will find what you are looking for.
