We have met for 1on1 time only twice the first time was our date the second was several weeks later at our dance class and we went for a 1on1 walk afterwards.

-Girl is recently out of 4 year relationship, as of 3 months ago.
-Asked her out on a date said she's not ready for a relationship but still went on a date
-She told her friends that i am a gentleman
-She laughs at all my jokes even the lame ones
-Gives me direct eye contact when we talk
-Always smiles at me
-Doesnt flinch at physical contact
-Tells me deep personal things
-We message very regularly, she flirts with me and uses winky/smiley emoticons often
-After telling me she didn't feel a connection, she still agreed to go for a 1on1 walk with me, she was shoulder to shoulder with me on a completely empty sidewalk and she kept bumping into me and accidently touching me.

I do not understand, any help is appreciated...

Long story short I finally asked out my friend who I kinda talked to in high school and got to know really well in college, we are both freshman at the same school. I asked her out on a date last week and she said yes. I've liked for 6 months and never got the courage to ask out even though she was dropping obvious signs of interest when we first hung out. We are very comfortable around each other, in fact I've even spent the night in her room before, just me and her (just as friends I slept on her couch). We have eaten together, worked out together, etc. She's dated a lot, been in relationships, and she's an attractive and mature girl, outgoing and pretty open. I on the other hand have basically no experience dating. So if we do go on a date and something doesn't come up, should I try to escalate the physical contact right away? Hold her hand, touch knees when eating, guide her through the door, etc. I feel like since we are already comfortable around eachother and know eachother well it's a different kind of first date. I'm kind of a timid shy guy and I want to make a statement that I really do like her more than a friend, and I don't want to get friendzoned. Lastly, I think I should kiss her before we part to really try and make that transition from friends to possible boyfriend/girlfriend. What do you guys think? I'm just trying to step out of the friendzone. And by the way just because I am trying to escalate things doesn't mean I won't be myself. by the way I am 19 not 29!!!
