Almost 4 years ago a guy and I dated for 2 months then we ended, I was going through stuff at the time and came across a bit much and he disappeared. A year later he messaged me again and wanted to see me. Anyway long story short he Wanted to try again and I didn’t want to so I said to him I’m happy to have casual sex until I can find someone else. (I know that’s harsh of me) so since then we’ve been sleeping together on and off. We’ve both said things in the past we wish we didn’t. He said to me he enjoys spending time with me and recently after a 4 month break we have kicked things off again only this time I’ve had a realisation in the last that I’d like to give it a go with him. He said last time he was happy to work on things if I wanted to. I apologised for the way I’ve treated him on the past and he said he forgives me and is just happy to see me.

How do I go about working on things with him now? We’ve been casual for so long at my that I don’t know whether to bring up a convo or just change my attitude and invest more time and energy into him? He may not even want to work on things anymore. How do I go about winning him over?
