Search Results: how to read a shy guy

There is a guy I've been having the same class with for about a year or so... we barely talk (I'm damn shy! ). Anyway, I have noticed that he looks for ways of making contact with me like touching my arm or my back, whispering irrelevant class related things in my ear or we get this deep eye contact going on at times. I don't know if he is been friendly or if he's interested, I don't read his sign and tell lol

Anyway, yesterday I was just coming out of class and he was with some girls at the entrance of the building. Then the girls left him and he kept looking at me as if he was waiting for me and suddenly he asked from far away to joint him... for some reason I started walking slowly, he made me nervous (that's how much I like him I guess)... and right away he put me on the spot by asking "why are you slowing down? Why you're walking slow?" And unconsciously and nervously I responded "it must be you!" And he laughed soooooo hard!! Why would he do this?

why would he do this and just put me on the spot?

Everyone tells me I should move, but it just doesn't feel right. I don't think it will ever feel right to move on in general but still. They tell me he doesn't give me the "attention" I deserve and that he doesn't take initiative. A guy doesn't always have to take initiative, right? There are also shy guys. We never dated but agreed on a date for Summer. We both have a lot going on right now and he said he has to focus on school first and he has a lot on his plate for the moment. My friends say it's bullshit and it won't have a future.

Now I've been trying to move on and this other guy is really sweet, nice, takes initiative, affectionate, etc. but he just isn't the other guy and I feel like I don't deserve him because he is too good for me. His messages make me smile but they don't make me grin like the other guy. I don't smile when I read back our conversations and he doesn't make me nervous. I've been thinking that maybe it's not a good sign? But my friends have been telling me "love has to grow". I'm litterally so torn.
