I am convinced, that people love sh*t and junk!
What exactly do I mean?

Well, here's what made me draw this conclusion:

- People loving drama and stress in life. Some argue, that fights and arguments are essential to a relationship. I however compare this to workplace accidents.

- Also people feeding on social media and getting depressed by looking at others. Their lives are so much better somehow than their own, right? Right?

- Why put work and effort in reaching your goals when complaining about it repeatedly is much easier?

- Who cares about privacy when you can have convenience in life? They got nothing to hide anyway. They're on social media after all. Everybody can stalk them all they want. Google, Facebook and all other spying agencies know more about you than you yourself do.

- More of a personal preference but regarding privacy and conveniences (outside of social media that is) people prefer Google Chrome over Firefox. People prefer Google over DuckDuckGo. People prefer WhatsApp/Skype over Signal. VPN? What are you talking about you paranoid nerd?

- This one's also a personal preference but paying twice for a product, that is likely to be replaced in the next year (Apple inc. products anyone?) and performs similar to it's half-priced competitors when you're nearing bankruptcy?

- I won't go into religion any deeper than just going to state, that I can't grasp how one would enjoy living in fear, unquestionable rules and constant judgment of an entity, that has not yet been confirmed at the price of your own freedom and individuality.

- And my personal favorite: People LOVE to feed on the propaganda given to us by the media, that is under control of the government. TV, news, radiostations... All of them broadcast cherrypicked fragments of information processed in such a way, that there is only one perspective to look at. Mostly bad news.

(I didn't have enough poll space to add bisexual or other combinations, therefor I've an "other" option where you can elaborate. The pictures are there just to give you an idea. The partner you dreams of doesn't have to look exactly like that.)

With masculinity and femininity it can be all from traditional gender roles, the way someone behaves, sounds and looks like. It can be clothing, hairstyles or just natural facial features and body shapes. So what's your preferences?

If you live in a multicultural society, the options for who you'd like to date are much more diverse and varied. You are surrounded by every type of skin color, and every color combination of hair and eyes that exist. You can eat any type of food, and have a better insight into other people's culture and way of life.

So something I often wonder is why do the majority of people still prefer to date within their own race. Is it because they are genuinely more attracted to them? Is it to maintain and carry on their culture and pass it down onto their kids? Is it because their parents/society expects them to? Or something else?

I personally only want to date outside my race, although I do find my own race attractive. And my reason is simply based on my preference on looks.

What about you?

I personally don't have such a preference for hair colour as long it is natural. Why do people sweat it too much?

Beauty (definition) = Physical beauty, something that's pleasing to the eye to look at. It may be a person you likes to look at for a long time. It may be attraction, but don't have to be it.

My Opinion:

I think it's proven by science that some features are liked by most people around the globe like symmetry, a healthy appearance, thick hair, clear skin, masculinity/femininity, in a gender, no deformity etc. I still think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. People have different preferences in colors, facial features, body shapes and fashion. Some prefer to date blacks, while others prefer either Asian or whites for instance. In Asia light skin is fashionable, while in the West tan is preferred. In Mauritania they likes fat women, while in the West slim. In some African tribes they use lip plates and do skin scarring. In old China they did foot binding, in old France corsets and so on. Beauty may be a bit evolution, but mostly culturally, a social construct and taught. You gets taught by the celebrities, the wealthy, the media, your friends and families what's beautiful. The societies around the globes have different beauty standards. Yet people have different preferences. Most people thinks Ryan Gosling and Channing Tantum are handsome in the West, but I finds them average looking. I think Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Aidan Turner looks good, but many are disagree.

In art we also have different preferences. I likes classical art; both paintings, drawings, sculptures, architecture, some fashion, interior, music etc. I like the aesthetic of much of the ancient, Renaissance, medieval, 1800s and early 1900s arts. I've mixed feelings about the art in modernism, but usually finds post-modern art ugly to look at so I gets a cold feeling of it. I think conceptual art tends to be the most disastrous ones.

I have noticed a trend the girls that are attracted to me. They look somewhat similar or they have similar personalities (fair skin, blue/green eyes, brunette, cute and independent, etc.). What do you think? It could just be my default preference. Is it because we are genetically predisposed to attract certain types of people? Are we taught this based on our interaction with certain people? Is it by choice or a preference of ours? Or, here's a kicker for you - do we actually have power in choosing who to attract by creating those moments and attractive qualities for that person?
