I've never found myself in a life-death situation where it was either me or someone I love, care about. If I ever did and know protecting someone else meant losing my life immediately... I think I would rather make it out alive and deal with the guilt.

Honestly, is it selfish loving my life and not wanting to die? I have so much to do in life still. I just turned 30 a couple months ago and feel young.

If I sacrifice myself or someone else, I'm going to cause suffering to my parents, my friends, my grandma, etc. How is that even fair?

For me taking back a cheater would be like eating a shitty, leftover sandwich. Something like this:
The sandwich is no longer in it's original wholesome, untainted state. Similarly, by staying with a cheater in a relationship or marriage, you will no longer think of that person the same whenever love songs come up on the radio, you will never feel that person has your back/best interests 100%, you would probably won't even feel like it would be worth sacrificing your life if a crisis came up, etc.

Those people taking back a cheater at some point have to accept they have a new person and that everything has forever changed. Is that even worth it? I think they must have some type of low self-esteem to think they should continue eating their shitty sandwich.
