Zuri is 19 years old. When she was nine, she was sexually assulted by her mother's boyfriend. Ever since she was terrified of being taken advantage of again. She dresses like a dude, cuts her hair, and acts boyish as well. She gets into fights and tries so hard to look tough and hard at all times. One day she was yelling at a guy saying she was going to beat his ass but then she realized her period started. She was terrfed, embrbrassed, and nearly cried, especially when the guy grabbed her and noticed the strain.

These are two different cases of a parent nearly succeeding at killing their child. In one the father does it and in another it's the mother.

He passed away two years ago at the age of 42 (pnemonia was the cause) but when he was 6 years old, his father took him to a motel and promised they would go to Disneyland. Instead he gave his son sleeping pills, poured kerosene in the room, lit the room and left. This left the boy permanently disfigured with horrific burns for life.

When she was only 14 months old, her mother placed her in an oven and turned it on. The girl's father heard her screamings and got her out on time. Her recovery has been long and painful. It took 28 surgeries over 10 years to repair the third-degree burns that charred and scarred more than a third of her toddler body. She is 15 now.

Obviously neither of them deserved to be parents but when the own mother tries to kill her child in a horrific way, is it more shocking than when the father does it?
