To preface, I saw a few comments on my last question "Mental illness and dating" that said this, so I'm curious about the results. This is not my opinion.

I feel like having two mentally ill people date is like adding gasoline to the fire. Having social anxiety myself, I feel more balanced around healthy people, while being around other ill people makes me more unbalanced. So personally, I'd choose to date a healthy guy if he would have me.

Also, having social anxiety doesn't mean I start speaking in tongues or any other crazy nonsense. It just means sometimes stuff goes over my head; for example flirting or reading the mood in a room. It doesn't majorly effect my daily life and I don't define myself by the term.

Been 5 years i never said anything-i was too busy and other stuff but there has been no one else i wanted.

Now i'm finding it too painful just being friends, he has no clue. I consider if i'm going to move away from friendship ill lose him anyhow, so i might as well tell him just in case he feels it... I'm worried i'll regret it. I'm soooooo sick of worrying about it , and i don't feel right dating other guys while i feel this way... i want to move on with my life. This is not specifically about dating just getting it out there, first step. to say it or not.

Advice?

its easy to say yeah id day something or no way move on, when its some stranger, its really important to me- if you could THINK about it honestly, id appreciate it :)

(Flirting doesn't seem right a bit frivolous compared to how i feel but I don't know what category i can put this in.)

He knows I like him because I told him in late September. In a slight apologetic tone to his text, he said that he didn't want to sound like an ass, but he likes being single because it makes things easier. He told that I'm pretty cool person, and that he didn't want me to be mad at him or blame him.

Afterward, it was not awkward thankfully. Yet, despite my feelings, he's still flirted with me. When we went ice skating with my friends, he offered his hand to me and we skated around while holding hands with our fingers interlocked. We always playfully argue and tease each other too. I'm pretty positive he's stared at my butt before too. He's tried to take my stuff before and we play a little tug-of-war with it. When he's with his friends, we all roast each other and it's chaos. He's told me he likes to bring up controversial subjects just to get a reaction out of me bc he thinks it's funny. But when it's just us, he's so chill and nice, and it's so easy to have deep conversations with him.

I've told my friends (who know him) about all of this stuff, and they are confused like me. Why encourage my feelings like that if he said he wasn't willing to date someone? But nevertheless, they think we'd be perfect for each other bc we're so alike.

I told my stepmom, and she told me that we have an obvious chemistry, and it's very possible that his parents don't allow him to date bc of his first relationships.

My friend told me that he dated a girl who wanted to have sex with him really early in the relationship, but he didn't want to so he broke up with her. She then told everyone that he's never masturbated to embarrass him. There was another girl he dated who broke up with him bc he was clingy. That was in his 8th grade year. He hasn't dated anyone in high school.

Do you think he likes me? Do you think that he isn't allowed to date? What should I do?

I'm going to hang out with him and our two other friends (who are dating) on Saturday to watch movies at their house.

I'm 23. I've never had a boyfriend. I used to get complimented by guys rarely in high school. Didn't get asked out until I was a senior. Once in a while would a guy somewhat flirt with me in person or ask me out. Since they're being so forward in the street, I usually choose to not pursue anything. Bit of anxiety in that type of scenario. I've tried online dating. I have gotten a lot of messages every time I made an account (what girl doesn't). I've been on a few dates that usually go no where and if they do, it usually fizzles out or I just lose interest. I feel like I'm this hideous monster. I've lost a decent amount of weight. People have told me, strangers/family/friends that I'm pretty. I am just negative and have low self esteem from the shit I've encountered in my life. Plus having an anxiety disorder doesn't help the situation. Personally, I think my face is plain.

Yet, I've seen women constantly being hit on and asked out on dates. They're usually never without a partner or potential suitor.
