This guy and I met on a dating app in 2018. We hit it off since the first date. We were very attracted to each other. He would always be the one to initiate messages and dates. A few dates later some shit went down and we stopped talking to each other which was his fault. Then in 2020 Jan he hit me up again and started showing attention but I was kinda mad at him for how he treated me in the past, so I didn’t meet him and kept delaying our plans. In September we got too close and he was begging me to meet him but I didn’t and then didn’t talk to him for 2 months. Then when I texted after 2 months he was showing attention but after a point he said “I’m kind of seeing someone right now. It’s casual only mostly but not hooking up with other people. We can chill but” I was so shocked when he said that but I also told him I’m seeing someone too but I don’t mind meeting him. To that he replied “ya I definitely want to see you. You didn’t meet for so long, else wouldn’t have seen anyone else ;) ” and then he asked me out for coffee I said yeah cool but after a point I ghosted him because he was replying late. After that he hasn’t messaged yet. Did I do the right thing by ghosting him or should I make it up to him?

I just can’t get over how unlucky I am in love. I’m in my mid twenties and can’t find a man that I’d want to date. I’ve tried the dating apps on and off for years and they’ve been a nightmare. I’ve vowed to quit using them until COVID isn’t as much of a concern. I just feel like every remotely attractive or cute woman can find a guy and have tons of them wrapped around their fingers. I’m not saying I’m a 10 but I’m told I’m cute. I lost a lot of weight and even thinner, men don’t like me. I only attract men that are unattractive with decent personalities, attractive with shitty personalities or attractive but short. Short as in my height or only an inch taller. Lol I’m not that tall so that’s just unacceptable for me. What is so wrong with me? The last guy I saw was not good looking but he attracted good looking women, yes he had a good sense of humor but so do I. It’s so unfair, the universe is out to get me.

So back in HS, I would tell people my frustrations with being able to get attention from guys. I was chubbier and have lost weight since, yet I am always single and already in my mid twenties. It clearly isn’t looking any brighter for me. But back in HS when people would hear of my situation, I would get feedback from people saying “just get with anyone”. I attracted attention from a few guys but they just never checked off my boxes or I did not care for their personality/appearance. But because I got attention just not from who I wanted, people would suggest that I get with them anyway. That to me is just saying that I should settle for whatever comes my way, it’s like they’re implying I can’t get any better. Would you also be turned off by this “advice”?
