I used to be scared too but in high school I had a social environment, so I could easily meet girls by finding common ground in classes, and since I was good looking and successful, it was easy. Across many religions, light is associated with good and purity, while darkness is associated with evil and corruption. For example, Satan is often called the Lord of Darkness and demons are often portrayed with dark skins. Meanwhile, God is often portrayed as a brilliant white light and despite Jesus growing up in Jerusalem and likely being dark in complexion, he is often portrayed as a Caucasian man with blonde/brown hair. Even the Archangel Michael is given the appearance of a white male.

Now how does this relate to racism? In this world, we have people that have Jesus/Angels phenotypic features from movies and paintings and then we have black people that look nothing like them and more in keeping with Satan's complexion. It's not far fetch to conclude that a lot of white/fair skin people could use this to justify their racism towards black people, as well as, embolden their belief of being seen as superior and good.

In addition, by already having this warped view in your mind at a young age, you might already have biasness in place to mistrust or look for bad traits in a black person over that of a white person.
