I have a guy friend. We use to date a couple years ago. Since the break up though we have become close. I can ask him for anything and he would try to help. I mentioned needing a bookshelf and he offered to build one for me. He had to buy a table saw and other equip to do this. He suggested I get a job in his office because i mentioned i was going to need to find one somewhere in the US within the next year. He asked this multiple times and even put in a good word. I got the job and weve been working together for a while. I told him in November I still liked him. He said he wasn't sure if he would ever want to date me again. He also mentioned he was hanging out with a girl. After this I told him we can't be friends. He respected this and we stopped talking, even at work. He gave me so much space. After a few days work was weird so I told him to forget it we can be friends. Things were weird for a while. I kept my distance but I noticed he would try to talk to me almost everyday. He would come over in my area of the office (right next to his) and then wander back to his space. Its been since November and I decided to start being real friends again, hang out outside of work and talk. I dont know if he is seeing anyone. I dont want to know. I texted him Saturday night at 8 and he didn't reply until Sunday morning at 9. We went to lunch, it was nice. I mentioned going to a basketball game and he said he wanted to go to that. I think he expected a hug because i use to give him one before I told him how I felt. I didn't go for one because I do still like him and dont want to do that to myself. We talked at work since then and I asked to do something the other night and he said i can't. I have mixed feelings. I know if he liked me and wanted to date he would date me. My question is if he is physically attracted to me, and enjoys spending time with me? What is missing? He doesn't ask to do things but mentions he is interested in doing something and I have to ask him.

I recently got back together with my boyfriend as we had a break due to some troubles with collage and since we got back together I've noticed that my mum and sister have been very negative towards him, my sister more so. My mum has told me that she has a really bad feeling about something about him and wants me to end things, apparently he makes my sister feel uncomfortable so I have to limit the amount of times I see him at my place to twice a week. Sure we see each other at collage almost every day but its nice to be able to just sit and chat somewhere warm and dry that isn't collage sometimes. My problem is that he wants to propose but I'm worried that I'll lose my family if I say yes since none of them like him. I love him more than anything... So do I follow my heart or listen to my family...
