What do you feel is behind the proverb: "It takes money to make money."

Does it hold truth, or is it merely an excuse that thousands of people have surfed on? Is it merely an attempted justification why they do not wish to work, or possess no money?

I have found it to be one of the most dangerous, most deceiving lines that fill a persons' mind. Success is not made, success is not the holder of the most cash, success is not "who you know in the business"-- success is born.

It is not a problem of the wallet, it is a problem of the mind.

Upon my family arriving to the United States, they had nothing but a few dollars in their pockets.

Long story short; they have all achieved that "American dream," very well.

Hard-work is all that this world recognizes-- it does not acknowledge giving-up, it does not acknowledge the final content of living in dirt (because you believe that is all you're equal to), it is not sitting in the governments' baby-crib because you have no hope and have accustomed yourself to laziness, it does not acknowledge a sour, hopeless attitude.

I believe that there are so many people in bad financial state (excluding the current economy), particularly in questionable parts of cities/areas, because children are being born into a family that has already submitted to never moving forward.

It is the attitude of "Everyone owes me something!" Not a living soul owes you a thing. If anything, you owe yourself.

While I cannot blame "It takes money to make money," for each detail-- I am able to apply it to what I wrote above (certain things more than others.) The proverb has become a common-knowledge saying in the minds' of our world... even if they do not realize it themselves, initially.

This all holds a domino-affect, an escalation from one extreme a person brought it to, to another.

I have known a number of people who literally had nothing, but they blossomed so incredibly through their determination.
