I've never spoken to her or been introduced to her, but she works in my office and smiles at me every time we come across each other, presumably because she can tell my eye is caught by her. It's such a cute smile and if I could hug her I totally would.

But she has a boyfriend, which I can tell by her social media account. So would a girl always smile at me in that situation because she wants attention, or because she wants to be nice, or what?

I used to work in the same office as her, and she probably could tell she caught my eye because she would smile at me a lot. I didn't approach her for professional reasons, but now I work at a different division of the same company several miles away. I do need to check company policy on that kind of thing.

I don't care too much if she says no or thinks I'm a creep, just wondering if it's an inappropriate thing do do. And it's likely she has a boyfriend, but I'm sure she'd just tell me that.
