When deciding to leave or begin a relationship, do you trust that gut feeling telling you what to do? Has it ever been wrong?

I read this morning about Whatsapp features that will be added soon – and one of them included a feature which automatically deletes messages after a certain time frame. The article even said it was perfect for cheating lovers and stated it in a way that sounded positive. I think it’s appalling? Why are Whatsapp encouraging secrecy? Everyone is obviously entitled to their privacy of course and no one’s partner should be snooping on their phones and invading privacy all the time. However, there are so many men and women who have gut feelings that their partners are cheating, suspecting something but no evidence. That last resort of checking the phone is either reassurance or confirmation of any activity. I know that if was being cheated on, I would want to know as soon as possible so I didn’t waste another breath on the loser.

People have obviously been having affairs since the dawn of time, but life nowadays makes it easier to cheat with longer work hours, more travel and of course the use of mobile phones. But I always felt that at least this was cancelled out by the fact that it was easier to get caught cheating. I also feel like the culture these days is so sexually free that it almost encourages you to get out there and experiment and go after your desires even if you are in a relationship. Many people aren’t in it for the long haul anymore, they just see people and practically assume they aren’t going to last. Why can’t we discourage cheaters? Make it easier for them to get caught? Cheating does so much damage, sometimes lasting damage on individuals and their confidence and can screw up their future relationships. Most cheaters usually regret their actions or at least aren’t proud of them.

Obviously there are exceptions with everything and feel free to disagree, just no arguments please!

I have recently found texts on my boyfriends phone. He has been texting his ex who he has a baby with. Seamed innocent at first as they would just talk about their son, until I noticed he’s been texting her at midnight or early hours in morning. Anyone else find that strange? He sees his son twice a week supervised with her (long story). I’ve noticed lately he’s been making an effort with his appearance every time he meets her. I read on the messages that they’ve been playing soccer together at these supervised visits. Their son is only 5 months old and obviously can’t walk, so it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. I also saw a picture on his phone of the three of them seeing Santa, which is nice for their son but I can’t help but feel suspicious as he never told me about going to see Santa with her.
