Hi everyone. My boyfriend (ex now) & I were dating for 7 years & on Monday of this week he decided to break up w/ me. We have been in a tough spot for about 3 in a half weeks however we’ve still continued to work things through together. Sometime beginning of last week we got into a bit of an argument & my cousin (she lives w/ me) overheard some of the argument & I guess in a way to come to my “defense” she said to my boyfriend “I hope you get coronavirus & die”. A few moments passed he called me to express how her saying that made him feel & he said that he’s now uncomfortable being w/ me because of what she said to him. He continued to say that “if she can say that about me what will she say about my family”. Of course him saying he’s now uncomfortable being w/ me didn’t sit well w/ me however I apologized to him on her behalf & said to him that what she said was wrong & I would never wish that. He said that it’s not my fault & there’s nothing I should be sorry for and after that I asked him if he really felt uncomfortable being with me and he said yes. He hasn’t spoken to me for about 3 days and I texted him and said he needs to give me some answers on how we can move forward. He said that what my cousin said aggravated him, he doesn’t want to be bothered by me, and he’d rather remove himself from the “situation” and he broke up with me. We’ve been together for 7 years & I just can’t believe he would throw it all away because of that. I respect his feelings and understand that what my cousin said he didn’t like but to break up with me for it? To hurt me for it? I don't know. I would never break up w/ him over something like that simply because I wouldn’t necessarily let someone who has absolutely nothing to do w/ our relationship influence my decision to stay/leave. I thought our love, our bond, was stronger than that especially considering everything we’ve been through. I am so heartbroken. Am I wrong for thinking his decision to break up with me is ridiculous?

Why would he want a long distance when he works 18 hours a day and why would he introduce the girl he never met to his mom on concall and say that I got our future wife. Why would he wanna talk to my mom. Why he loves me ( but we have never met)? Why I feel I'm loved too? He ignores my ( I'm the one he is in Long distance with someone living in NZ he went there as an international student and is staying there since 3 years and we are from same city originally but I'm still in my own country) texts and replies every two - five days since a week, saying he was too busy. He also told me that he is loyal to me and says me I love you over call and texts. And we once faught after a month of our relationship coz he said he don't see any future with me coz I don't wanna come and study in NZ and that he will not give me any job right away in NZ coz he lives on rent and I said fine you should break up with me. He said I'll find someone else and when I get one, I'll leave you. I was like no, break up with me right away. Be sure and confident. And he asked me if I want to break up with him? I said no why would I? He said no I don't want to break up and he apologized next day. Today it'll be three months and all is good. He bought another home and lives alone on rent and he said me that in 3 years or so he would be a resident of NZ. Would he call me to NZ? But what I fear is that will this relationship last? What's your opinion?
