Angel is 32 years old. She's a single mother of two kids ( Zahra, 7, Zion, 4) and recently got out of an abusive relationship. Angel is has heart problems and also had a heart attack due to stress. Angel loves her daughter but at the same time resents her because she has a blank slate and wishes she could live through her daughter and be a successful women.

Angel is really harsh on Zahra and forced her to be responsible and very independent at a early age while being patient, kind, and spoiling Zion. Angel hit her in public, called her stupid, bitch, and said she did it on purpose. Angel took Zahra home and beat her with a belt while Zion watched. Finally, whenever family came over Angel would tell them about Zahara wetting herself and doing it for attention in public or she'd say that Zahara is such a child and needs to wear diapers whenever they go out. Zahra, despite being 7, washes the dishes, sweeps the floor, studies really hard at school because she doesn't want to anger her mother. Zion isn't expected to do anything.
