my boyfriend came over yesterday because we had a little argument the night before and he wanted to see me and talk to me in person and make up. and of course we did make up after a while. and then it was all back to normal until this happened.
i know he has female co workers in his work place and he's friends with most of them and i dont really mind about it. and plus, they are mostly old.
so anywho, he showed me pictures of them altogether and then out of nowhere he pointed at this woman - she looks about over 30ish, and she's short, chubby, and unattractive.
and then he said "you look like her"
then i blew up and got so furious. he was confused and tried to calm me down but i was too fkn mad so tried leaving but he hugged me tight and wouldn't let go.
he asked "why are u so mad? i didn't say anything wrong"
and i said "because u said i look like her. thats how you see me. you think i look old and shit. i dont look like her!"
and he said "ok no you dont look like her, ok look maybe i said it in the wrong way, didn't mean what u were thinking."
and i replied "why do u think i look like her?"
and he said "i dont know... its coz you're both short and both of you are of the same nationality"
I got so annoyed at him and stopped talking. and then he got mad at me and started saying stuff about how I was selfish and that I got mad for nothing/over little things and how im immature and insecure about myself (which is kinda true) and that he drove all the way to my place and this is what he gets.. drama from me.
but anyway, do you guys think i was in the right to get mad about it? does he think im that ugly if he thinks i look like her? what the fuck does that even mean? was he just bullshitting when he said "ok no u dont look like her, i said in wrong way, didn't mean what u were thinking"? why would he say that when he always says that im pretty and beautiful and that he loves me everyday?

Like maybe the ones that aren't begging? Like maybe the old man you pass on your walk the the office everyday who is never drunk and you even run into him when you are out drinking and he's sober trying to sleep on the steeps of a church.

The Socioeconomist in me knows the value of a single dollar has much more weight for him than it does me. Shit I've wasted at least $100 playing Pokémon Go over the past months when I'm bored and waiting for an Uber or grocery shopping.

I hate the argument that they'll use it to shoot up or get a beer. If they can't get into the shelter because it's full most will spend that money on a 30 oz or something while they go sleep under a noisy bridge or church steps.

More than half suffer from mental illness that may not have been bad before they became homeless but the stress of homelessness severely exacerbates the condition. Never knowing you safe, loneliness and stigma.

Flipside dont give a few homeless people a couple of bucks each week and think you're a hero.

We have a large homeless community in my city that has shifted here due to soup kitchen and panhandling bans in other parts of the region.

I try to roll the dice and pick the people I think aren't getting a lot of sympathy. So usually not women, usually middle aged men that look like they may even have a home but are on the verge of losing it because of skyrocketing rent that makes even the poorest of housing unaffordable even though he works two jobs.

Maybe im wrong and he spends it on dope. Not my business after point of transaction. I also like to pay the mentally ill because they honestly just cherish kind words, interest and a handshake. They cherish being seen as a human being not something to be ignored. If he's a regular on my route to work I bring him healthy food like apples and protein.

Sometimes maybe i dont give a I've a homeless person money but I acknowledge them with respect.
