Why would a guy block a girl off FB after getting all her contact information, close down his FB entirely to all his family and friends, then wait months before reaching her via a different social site, acting even more eager than before to meet up with her?

A guy was very hot and heavy when we met. His eyes were seriously on fire whenever he looked at me, very hot and intense, whether he was sitting next to me or looking at me from across the room. EVERYONE who was with us could see it. For weeks afterward he tried to get my contact information, etc. I told him to reach me via FB, which he did, till finally he just shut down his FB -- very abruptly, without message. I figured he found a reason to block me. It happens. There was nothing to do, so I ignored it and moved on. It would have been easy enough to email him, but I figured he was just not interested.

Yesterday I get an Invite to join him at a different social site. I tried to ignore it, but the message just kept popping up. After ignoring him all day I replied to the email with a very formal introduction, asking if he had sent the message in error.

It took him less than a second to send me a reply, asking me for my contact info, to join and accept him on the site, to go out. Apologies and explanations were offered. He'll come to my building, etc., etc.

I'm not sure why a guy would do that. I'm thinking that the opportunity to be around some "really hot" girl come along when he blocked me (or closed) FB, then lost that opportunity and is coming back here to knock on my door. His story about FB doesn't make sense in light of the fact that (1) we have mutual acquaintances; (2) my email is on our campus directory, so he could have looked me up at any point.

I know that men care less than women about wealth but I also know that they are sometimes intimidated by successful women.

So this has nothing to do with my success. It's my parents success and I'm lucky for them because they bankroll me, basically.

I don't go out of to show off my wealth or anything but I do wear TR jeans, have a nice car etc but I work at a non-profit organization where everyone else is paying their own way through school and stuff.

So I like this guy who works with me and he's middle class but we don't know each other that well, I know he has student loans, takes the bus etc. Anyway, he's been giving me a lot of mixed signals. My coworkers think he may be intimidated because of my perceived wealth.

Guys, do you really care about that? And if so, how much? Would you stop being interested in a girl because her dad is rich?
