We all are well inform of the resent cases of physical relationships between American professors and their students. But I am sure this has been going on since as early as school were founded.

But this question is excluding sexual acts or romantic relationships.

Thinking as a student or as a parent ( if you are one), where do you think the relationship between a student-professor should end. How far would you take your relationship with a professor and if you are a parent when will you start to become uncomfortable and will make the relationship between your child and his professor end?

*** This questiom came to me when remembering of my young female high school professor whos personal Facebook was discover by some classmates and soon was flooded by students friend request. At first she only accepted certain people and rejected the rest. But as soon as the administration heard of what was going on, she removed all the student from his friend list. I presume to avoid any complains or explanations to parents who will not agree on the professor's decision.

I get that people can be offensive but the whole point of a forum is to have an open discussion. Just because someone disagrees with an opinion doesn't mean they should be able to silence it. While the asker should possibly be able self moderate to a certain extent, maybe hide the opinion which would flag it for say an hour max, that should give a mod or admin enough time to look at it and deem if it should actually be flagged for being offensive and taken down, but if not, they should be penalized for suppressing a legit comment.

I don't know, it just seems like you can't say anything here anymore without it getting removed for one reason or another.
