I like K-Pop, and it made my interest for Asian culture spark up. I’ve always loved learning about other cultures and languages probably because my parents come from different countries so I grew up with multiple cultures and languages. By learning a different language you also interact with those who speak that language too. But I’m afraid that people would say that I’m trying to be Asian and and criticize me for finding Asian culture interesting.

What I mean is, I used to be really adaptable instinctively, at adjusting my speech pattern within reason to my clients in meeting throughout different regions.

It wasn't even on purpose, for the most part, but if I think of it can still do it on purpose.

Having lived in many different cities and some rural areas I don’t have a true blue accent that is mine, really.

But I do have the accent of the place I currently live most days and years, however no one in the city is actually from there.

I got out to see clients in the state I grew up in for the most part and they asked me if I was from Canada. Nothing wrong with that except now I’ve completely alienated them because I have to admit mostly I’m from their state and talk like a traitor.

Old me would have switched modes automatically. It’s the only reason I speak foreign languages well even if I’m not that fluent. Because I get the rhythm and emphasis on the right words at beginning and end.

A sentence means little if you don’t say it right. Meaning to say the words with the right emphasis and diction (style of speaking).

Really stepped on a rake that day.

Do you, as a millennial understand the importance of small verbal and gesture cues in face to face meetings?

I had to be taught some, mainly what to stay away from and a few to do. But the one thing I always had was syncing language patterns.
