I have a dinner date set up for this weekend with a gentleman who I met online. My friend thinks I should get all dolled up with dresses, high heels and a whole face full of makeup but I’m perfectly fine wearing boots, jeans, a sweater in minimal makeup with some pretty earrings. Truth is, we’re just doing Panera Bread so definitely nothing fancy and I want him to see the real, natural me before the prettied up version. My friend on the other hand thinks that the reason why I’m still single is because I don’t get made up or dressed up for men. What are your thoughts?

I’ve heard mixed reviews, some say it is and others disagree. However, I’ve noticed that I have had no luck what so ever. And I feel like most people are able to find a date with no problem but me. I don’t think I’m ugly nor beautiful, maybe some will consider me as average or cute. I am thick, above average height and dress well. But I notice that the ones I like don’t like me back and the ones like me, I have no interest in. While that may be common for some, I did not think it would be inevitable as it has been for me. I expected to encounter it after a few times but would eventually find a good man. I’ve never been able to find what I want and am not asking for a lot. Good looks, successful, attractive and nice personality. What gives? Are dating apps terrible or am I the issue?
