Search Results: changed since college

There is this girl in one of my classes, (I'm a sophomore in college) that I've been kinda into since freshman year. I hugged her once in freshman year when we were drunk, but I don't think she remembers. She also smiled at me once but I looked away quickly because I was shy and insecure in freshman year. I think she also broke up with her boyfriend from freshman year.

Anyway, I found out that she was in my class and I wore a button down shirt and dress pants to class that day because I had an interview and couldn't change in time. I noticed that she looked at me a lot and when I looked at her, she would look away. That made me think that she liked me.

A few days later, I saw her at night near my dorm entrance and said "what's up" and then I was too shy to continue talking to her, so I walked away and fb messaged her saying that I forgot my phone and that's why I left. She replied saying "no problem" with a smiley emoji.

The problem is, now, in class (its been about two weeks since school began), she doesn't really look at me as much as she did before. She talks to the guys/people who sit next to her, but she has never initiated conversation with me in class. Also, now when she looks at me, she looks at me with an almost blank expression and doesn't really smile. When class ends, I want to talk to her but she leaves before I do and puts on her earphones, so I can't talk to her after class.

I really like her and want to get to know her. Did I mess up? Am I supposed to initiate conversation? Should I talk to her next time, even though she has earphones in after class? Does she even like me? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
