This guy and I talked on bumble just over a week. We joked that we wanted to meet, but not get stuck with eachother too long in the case there wasn’t a connection in person. He picks a bar and asks me to meet him there. When he shows up he says you are tall. It seemed for the first 10 min there was no connection and he mentioned he was going to a poker party after. We have one drink and when the bartender asks if we want another he says no. Then he insists I get food because he loves their food. The conversation really starts to pick up and he brings up meeting again. He asks for our food to go as he wants to take his to the poker party with him. The whole date lasted over an hour. The check comes and I tell him I can pick up my own... he says well ok let’s just split it. I was kind of shocked not going to lie. As we were walking out he became more playful in conversation, but the whole splitting bothered me so when my cab arrived I just walked away. Why would a man agree to this so easily?

I have been in a long term relationship for over a year now with a guy I met and fell in love with online.
However, before we really connected, I asked him simply for his companionship, but he initialized our relationship.
I sought out for a kindred spirit. One I could laugh, travel and have sex with, not a commitment-- not a lifelong commitment.
Do I date many guys? No. I have been hurt enough, I was seeking someone who could benefit my life and have it make sense again. It's far different than a friends with benefits.
I was looking for someone I could connect with on a whole new level without the stresses a relationship is known to bring.
Someone I could learn from, take friendship in, and conversate, learn and grow.
This person and I don't have to initially be "one", and I realized I'm not the marrying type at least not yet.
Him and I already, work great as a team, get lost in each other's eyes, talk, go on long drives, and have plenty of intimacy but we have had our many problems. His lack of not following through with his word, his lying, and so forth. My rambunctious, nit picking, and accusations of him cheating.

We have fun, but What are "We" , really , as a whole? Should I stick with my word and follow through with the companionship I'm seeking?
