As we know men tend to have a vague idea of what they want in a woman, meaning they don't have a specific height she needs to be or hair colour. Thus, men often can find a wide range of women attractive and don't write people off just from the get go.
However, women on the other hand are VERY specific on how their mate should look like, and what lifestyle he should have. Thus, we often see that women reject men for not only physical self but for things such as their house, car, and so for forth.
With that being said it has been shown that women don't fall in love with men per say but rather fall in love with the idea of a man. Women create broad assumptions about the man, his personality and his struggles in life just based on how he looks and dress. Of the 2 genders, women are more easily influence by the media and thus more susceptible to believe in stereotypes.

Thus, let say a girl always envisioned travelling the world on a boat, loved the beach and had in her head that she wanted her boyfriend to be a surfer or someone with strong connection with ocean. If she encountered that man who matches "the look", he could have the personality of a potato and she will chase after him like crazy. Filling up all the gaps of what she doesn't know about him with her own imagination of her ideal guy.
However, as time goes on and you get to know more about a person, those mysteries about them become revealed and the areas you filled with that of your imagination gets replaced with reality of said person. Eventually, if they stray too far from your ideal man then you will fall out of love and leave them.

Here's my attempt at putting a long story into 2000 characters. Back freshman year in high school (Im a college freshman now) I had the biggest crush on this girl and I felt like she really liked me too until I fucked up royally. I basically told her to get the rod out of her ass because she was being a bitch. So my chances with her went from good to big old goose egg in a matter of one Facebook conversation. In sophomore year I had her for a class and she ignored me all year. Just a little side note I was an annoying little shit up until Junior year when I realized I had to stop being so annoying. In junior year we had a class and we sat next to each other and this year she was a lot more talkative to me. One day she even took my phone and put her phone number in it. Like Im serious, I didn't ask for it she just took my phone and put her phone number in. To sum up that year she never really wanted to hang out. So senior year was not to spicy but to put it short we didn't have a class together but we did still see each other once in a while at school and would exchange "hellos" but at the end of the year she did stop me in the hallway to take some selfies before we graduated. My question to y'all is that is it worth it to message her and try to hang out with her? I say this because I think the reason she never wanted to hang out and why she ignored me was because I was very annoying and very fat and ugly. Now I know you not supposed to date someone just for their looks but if you say that looks dont factor at all into the relationship game than your just silly because your not gonna date ugly betty just because she's got a good personality, looks play some role in it and Im telling you I was fat and ugly. I've lost 50 pounds so far and I've grown a decent beard and its kept very finely groomed. I've also stopped my annoying ways and I'm a very different person from 4 years ago. So would texting her and asking to meet up be a good idea and would it come with success?
