You meet someone. You think they are drop dead GORGEOUS. 23-24 years old. Amazing face and equally amazing body, with the ideal height you'd want. They then blow you away with their personality; they're kind, charming, funny, intelligent, considerate, humble, etc. You two have instant chemistry. You quickly develop a crush on her. Like no one before her. You sit down in the park and have a light lunch, ordering hot dogs or something from a nearby food vendor. You talk for about ten minutes.

You then hear her say how her last partner was female; she uses female pronouns when referring to them. The girl you just fell in love with is gay! Queer. A possible lesbian. LGBT. One of the many variations of homosexual. How would that make you feel? What would be your immediate emotional reaction? Would you pursue this girl even further, despite the news?

I’ve been in a 7 month relationship with my girlfriend Nivea. Me & Nivea have a good relationship. Nivea cooks for me, does my laundry, and spends money on me. When we don’t see each other for a couple days she calls me on her way to work and FaceTimes me for an hour before bed. I’ve never had a relationship like this. She even gave me a key to her home and told her dad about me.

I really like Nivea but I don’t like that most of her friends are guys. Her male bestie Mark lives a 5 min walk from her. She use to text Mark a lot until he got a girlfriend. She has her text messages on open screen. So I can see everything, but I’ve never seen anything suspicious.

One night me & Nivea were hanging with her friends. Gossip started about their friend Julio. They were saying Julio is secretly gay. Nivea explained why he’s gay. She talked about how she was sleeping over at his house years ago & Julio cuddled a gay guy instead of her.

Her exact words...”can you believe he has a beautiful woman laying in his bed and he’d rather cuddle a gay guy on his couch?”.

I got really upset and mentioned it the next day. Her response was “I know I’m hot and can have any guy I want. So obviously he’s gay”. I also mentioned I don’t like her friends with so many guys. She said she’s not attracted to them and I should trust.

I’ve nearly fallen in love with Nivea but I keep remembering her male friends. Am I an idiot for staying with her?

As in, can you dislike something, but still think people should be allowed to do it in a free society?

For example, on my end; I VEHEMENTLY dislike fake lesbians who con and screw over (simp) men, aka 'bisexuals.' But people should be allowed to have that choice in a free society, even if I find it disgusting and treacherous to men (and open lesbians) who get swindled by lesbians who act "straight" when they need some money from you. Or to the gay men who don't like being called "gay" even though they're clearly into dick. They're mind-screwing women who think they're with heterosexual men, but are actually dating gay men "who don't like labels." I really dislike both of these kinds of dishonest gay people. But I wouldn't try to make their lifestyles illegal or anything.

Same exact views on polyamory/open relationships, and transgenders. You can be trans or be an adulterer; I just don't personally agree with it. I would fully vote for laws that allow such freedoms (that didn't interfere with other people's rights), and vote against laws that tried to suppress such freedoms, but I personally don't agree with these lifestyle choices.

The same also would apply to marijuana. I can't STAND stoner culture and think it's one of the biggest signs of a loser in society, but if smoking and alcohol are free in society (which are just as bad as pot), why shouldn't marijuana also be legal?

So I am referring to things like this. Think about hot-button issues like abortion, gay marriage, etc. Can you separate your personal feelings on something from whether or not people should be allowed to be/have them or not?
