I think most of us want to give a good impression. We put effort into choosing something of quality that our girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse would be happy to receive. Surprisingly, some of us might spend more on this particular gift than we would on a "gift" for ourselves. There are also some of us who don't put as much importance on the price tag of the gift.

What's your stance on this?

Sara has a five year old daughter named Maria. She puts makeup on Maria, gives her fake boobs and tells her she needs to be pretty and perfect all the time if she wants money. She'd never let Maria climb trees, play in the mud or do anything that would make her messy and if she did. Sara would tell Maria she looked ugly and acted manly. Sara wouldn't allow Maria outside unless her hair was flawless. Maria's parents would spoil her with toys, gifts and candies that costed thousands of dollars. They'd buy her clothes wroth hundreds of dollars and take her to the most expensive places because she's so beautiful. Sara She put Maria in several beauty pageants. She told Maria how important it was to be tall and skinny, how to get older guys to look at her, put makeup on her face daily and she was always on a diet. Maria developed a eating disorder at age 11 and it almost killed her. But Sara kept putting her in the beauty pageants until Maria kicked her, and pushed down the stairs. Maria became a model but still starved herself sometimes.

Maria is now 30. She's a single mother with two kids. And had s*** with 15 different guys. She feels like a failure and takes anti depressants every day.
