We went to high school together for 4 years, and I got to know her a little bit better my senior year but we were still "acquaintances." I always admired her a lot for who she was as a person. Amazing personality, smart, hardworking, pretty, etc. But I always just saw her as a friend. Well I moved in on Sunday, and she sent me a text asking to meet up for dinner. So we did, and we checked out the campus for a few hours before meeting up with someone else. The next day she texted what are you up to. I was getting a ticket and she came along for an hour before I left to get dinner with my parents. We meet up at a festival that night, 3 of us (her and her friend, we all know each other), and later hung out in her dorm and mine, then hers. Then her friend left at around 1 am and she said want to go back to your dorm. So we split off just me and her to my dorm and talked until 2 am (my roommate came out to talk to us too). The next night she texted me lets play pool. We did that for a few hours. I think she was texting another guy and she decided to leave at 12:30 am, early for her. Then Thursday we met up for dinner again, initiated by her, and eventually got into a big group. So, I have spent over 15 hours with her this week, and half the time its just me and her. I have to say, even though I saw her as a friend before, I am really starting to like her. We have just talked and I haven't really made a move, mainly because I am surprised she keeps hanging out with me (there are probably a few boys chasing her right now, like the one that was texting her). I don't know if she feels the same way, but here is my plan. I will ask her to meet up for dinner again tomorrow and while we are eating, at some point I will just casually bring it to the table. "Are we in the friend zone?" And I will tell her I like her a lot. If she says yeah we are in the friend zone I'll just be like "sweet, I like hanging out with you. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page." If she likes me, then I will spill it out that I like her too. What do you guys think? Is it good to be straightforward and bring it to the table? I never really had a girlfriend in high school so I am inexperienced.

I have 2 friends who have split after 20 years and children. One partner broke up the relationship and since started a new relationship but those that know the relationship will know that the dumped partner behaved very badly during relationship which probably contributed to breakup
Everytime I meet dumped partner they waste no time blaming the other partner for breakup and non reconciliation even though I know the history. They seem more preoccupied with having the high moral ground whereas I think they should be more worried about how parents behaved and the effect it is having on the children.
What I am asking is how others perceive any split important to you?

I'm trying to have fun with my friends and family and not be involved with anybody because I'm only a kid but why did life throw a monkey wrench into it when I find out the girl I love (as a friend) likes me and wants to be more than friends. She's pretty and stuff and I love her to death but I just... don't know and I repeat I love her and my parents literally said they want me to end up with a girl like her... I just didn't expect or want this to happen and I'm not trying to be mean or anything but I just thought it life would go like I planned and maybe I do have feelings for her too. And she technically didn't tell me, she told one of my friends and said " I'm sorry, I like (my name) and I'm thinking of telling him" I thought high school wasn't this dramatic... We do graduate this year (I'm about to be a senior) so maybe she'll meet another guy and fall for him, i don't go to parties and stuff and get drunk and have *** with every girl I see. I'm a nice guy (at least I've been told I am), I never get in trouble, I have Bs and a couple As so I really don't want to complicate things with a girlfriend and she knows more stuff about me than I would tell any girl ever since I've know her since 3rd grade. I feel like I'm being so mean... am I? Plus I've never had a girlfriend while she's had 2 boyfriends (which I've done various background checks on lol). I do have experience as her fake boyfriend though and that was funny because she had like 3 guys hitting on her so she asked me to be her fake boyfriend for 2 weeks ( no kissing). What I guessed I'm trying to say is, if we do this who gf/bf thing, is this gonna change our friendship. Who knows, maybe she was just kidding...
