I've found (in school at least) that even if someone of the popular crowd maybe isn't the best looking, their friends will tell them they look cute or hot if they wear nicer clothes, even though their physical appearance hasn't changed.

I guess what I'm asking is: once you get to know a person and befriend them, do they become more attractive due to their personality even if they were average or not so good looking before? And I'm not talking about just opposite sex, like a guy and girl, but also guy and guy, or girl and girl (platonically, not romantically)?

For example, I know some people might not acknowledge one of my female friends as 'super hot' or anything (no shade, I'm just trying to say that everyone has a preference) but to me, when she dresses up, she looks really cute and I'm often surprised as to how she doesn't have a boyfriend (just based off of looks alone)

Personally, I think that society pushing for gender neutralization is a terrible idea. I'm really hoping it is just a fad. It seems now that if you aren't an advocate for gender neutralization, you are called closed minded and ignorant. That's just not fair in my opinion.

To me, males and females both have their strengths and weaknesses. ie Males are typically physically strong, can make decisive decisions without letting their emotions cloud their judgement and usually are gifted in skills that are good at manual labor jobs. However they usually lack patience, empathy and the ability to express themselves emotionally.

Females typically are the opposite, so the scale balances.

I'm not saying males can't be how females are and I'm not saying that females can't be like males. And I don't think it's bad any which way because that's just a persons preference. I'm just saying why is society trending toward the direction that genders are bad?

I feel like I am an outcast and frowned upon because I don't want gender neutrality for me or my future family. I want the old school family. A man goes to work and provides for his family while his loving wife stays at home and takes care of the children and the house. I don't know what's so bad about that? But people say because I want that for my family that I'm against equal rights for females. I'm not. I think that females should have equal rights and opportunities if they choose to do so. Is it really so bad that I just don't want it for myself?

You see gender specific roles all the time in nature. Lionesses hunt and provide food, while the Males protect the family. With Gorillas the Male stays vigilant, always on guard duty protecting the family while the females and children all eat, sleep, play and live their lives. Female Elephants lead their packs. They decide where to go and what to do and when and the rest of the family follows their lead. Why did humans decide that it's best to go against their nature?
