I put this under the "Gifts" category as it has to do with buying "stuff". (Hope that's okay.) :)

I was going through my budget from last month and noticed we had done a lot of spending getting ready for summer, when I realized that I'm the type of person who will spend money to save money. I made the mistake of buying one pair of cheap shoes and basically threw them in the garbage after one week because they were made of synthetics and I wouldn't have known how uncomfortable they were until a few hours of walking in them. Then bought a pair of quality-made leather sandals a week later and I know they will last for a few years. I do the same thing with many other products and just can't stand the revolving door of buying things periodically as they break down just because they're cheap. Yes, it hurts my bank account, but I do it so I don't have to spend money again so soon.

What do you do? Do you prefer to spend as little as you need to, knowing you'll have to replace something sooner, or gambling that you might have to replace something? Or do you prefer to splurge and know that you bought something of quality that will last a longer time, even though it broke you a bit in order to get it?

(You feel loved when the two of you spend more time together by hanging out or going on dates.)

If I ranked them from which I needed most to least, #1 I value Quality Time.
#2 Tell me you love me using words of affection.
#3 I need you to show me through touch.
#4 I don't really care for this pne, but it would be nice if you bought me a gift on special occasions like Christmas, Bdays, Valentines Day, and Anniversaries.
#5 It wouldn't hurt to do nice things like opening the door for me to walk in.
