-And nearly 6x as likely to be working in life-threatening conditions

-And also twelve times as likely to die on the job
-They are 25% more likely to be a victim of crime

-Virtually all critical services are done by men (What would happen if no men showed up for work today?), including utility jobs, construction, manufacturing, engineering, emergency services, mining, and garbage collection.

Basically, if you’re a man, having a job is non-negotiable. If you quit you get far less government assistance and you’re less likely to be re-hired, you’re less likely to be re-hired, so you’re pretty much chained to your job unless you’re wealthy. Men’s #1 expenditure is financial investments. Women’s #1 is shopping. Who do you think is more worried about money?

To put it bluntly, not all, but many men are de-facto slaves in today’s society. It’s not so explicit as that, but try talking to a coal miner about how many opportunities he has for social advancement.

So, do I think we have achieved gender equality? Hell no.

But when a woman who receives $100,000 more in government funding complains about the “wage gap” to someone who does backbreaking manual labor for minimum wage, it stops being funny. “Entitled” is a kind word for that kind of head-up-assery.
