he asked me what I thought about us and whether we are progressing into a relationship. I said everything was okay and if I wanted to finish it, I would have straight away. He said that it's okay between us but he's hesitant as I still hold back and I'm closed off. I was surprised and asked why he thinks so. He said that when we are together, the communication is good but when we aren't together it's bad. He's never had this issue and it might be just who I am, he's always the one who initiates phone calls and messages. I said that when he asked me for a break a few weeks ago, I thought he didn't want to talk on the phone etc so much when we're apart from each other. He's also busier than me so I said I thought that he calls me and messages me when he's free and it's more convenient. he feels like he's the one holding the relationship together. I said I didn't know and should have told me straight away. i said that I communicate with everyone in different ways. I said I can message and call him more if that's an isssue. He said it isn't his issue but mine. he will think about it Bevause he doesn't want another breakdown in communication in a month time etc. he said I should have communicated too Bevause I misinterpreted him. he was saying that I said I'd start going to the gym and it's been three weeks and I still haven't. So I shouldn't be saying I would do something and they I don't do it. I had other priorities that I wanted to do and that I'm doing like a language course etc. And I was under pressure of starting straight away and making drastic changes in my eating habits and also it made me more self conscious. That's when the conversation cut off and I tried to call him back but it went to voice mail. I messaged him saying the connection was cut off and got no reply. He didn't get back to me yet. He's hesitant if it's progressing into a relationship. But now I'm afraid he doesn't want me to call him/message him more and he just wants to break up with me?
