I have always disliked cramming myself into some annoyingly loud place to celebrate the latest BS. Especially if it's some dopey party for a grown-ass adult. So when the pandemic hit, I figured, whoa... a silver lining! NO MORE DUMB PARTIES! Well, I was wrong. Now my family members have Zoom celebrations, Skype gatherings and recently, I was encouraged to contribute a video for a family member's 60th birthday. Fortunately, I was busy working, so I didn't do any of it. But then it seems people get pissed at you for not being a part of the madness. But I watched that video when it was finished (well, part of it) and everybody was losing their minds. Dancing and singing and dressing up in ridiculous costumes. It was a full 90 minute display of stupidity. And I find out after the fact that some of the Zoom gatherings go for HOURS! OK look, I am all about celebrating a birthday for a kid. I used to like that when I was a child, so I get it. But now that I am older, how come the thrill has worn off for me and not for everyone else?

So my friend and I haven’t hung out since I’d say middle of September (which is sad since she lives 10 minutes away) but anytime we would make plans it just wouldn’t work out with our schedules or it did and then something came up. Anyways, she went to Toronto last Saturday with a group of friends and took a train to Montreal on Tuesday and has been in Montreal. She was supposed to come back yesterday but the train station flooded out and the train lines were cancelled. She then looked at flights to come straight back to the US since it’s her friends car that’s stuck in Toronto not hers and there’s really no need for her to go back there. Toronto is about a 7 hour drive from here. She had a flight scheduled today from Montreal to Chicago ohare to here. (No direct flights) Flight was supposed to leave Montreal at 12:26pm and she said it’s delayed and they (her and another girl) are stuck in the airport. I don't know how long the flight is delayed for but they weren’t supposed to get here until 5:57pm today because the flight from Chicago doesn’t take off until 3:40pm. We are supposed to go to this Halloween party/costume contest at a club/bar that we have had tickets too tonight at 10pm-2am. Both of our costumes were expensive and we bought them for this party. Like I said I don't know how long her flight is delayed for in montreal but Chicago looks like it has outbound delays as well. It takes about an hour to get back home from the airport as well. It’s currently 12:51pm. Also can’t ask anybody else to go - tickets are sold out

So there’s Halloween party this Friday that my friends and I have been eyeing up all month. There’s also costume contest. It’s a 90s/00s throwback party. I lost my job last week (they eliminated the position) and my final paycheck was only $227. I am copying a 90s pop singer and bought stuff on amazon to make parts for a costume that was $107 on amazon which comes tomorrow. I also bought a wig last night that was $16 and is expected to arrive within 3-5 days. I can’t get a refund or cancel the order. I found the same wig for $13 with free 2 day shipping. I have $104 in my bank account right now. I also already spent $70 on a previous costume but I decided last minute I wanted to be something else which is why I bought this. I’m not sure if I should buy the other wig (guaranteed to have it) or wait and see if it shows up (can’t wear the costume without the wig, completely different hair color and style). The tracking just says pre shipment. I also have yet to pay my phone bill for this upcoming month which is usually $60 and it’s about to expire. And yeah my parents are mad that I wasted money on another costume (they don’t know exactly how much, if they did they would flip but they aren’t happy) but yeah I’m also looking for another job too because I owe them $300 for this months car payment which I don’t have.
