My girlfriend and I have dated for 3 years now. But we broke up pretty quickly due to a religious difference, but it wasn't long before we got back together. Her parents hold hostility towards me for not being apart of their religion and for how I handed myself when we broke up. We both didn't handle it well, and I completely stopped being involved and it really hurt her.
Anyway, she's called me upset because of her parents and how hostile they are about the relationship. After talking with my friends, and getting the approval from my girlfriend, I sent this message to her mom;
Hello, I know you're upset with me, and rightfully so. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for how I handled things with your daughter. I had begun to fall in love with her and didn't know the best thing to do. But she has been incredible and given me another chance. I'm not looking for forgiveness, but I want you to know I'm sorry. Your daughter is the best thing to ever come into my life.

But her mom never responded and was confrontational with my girlfriend about the message. Was this not ok? The only reason I sent a message is because they live out of state.

7. Safety - Rich guys live in safe neighborhoods and network with powerful friends. You're pretty much untouchable!
8. Financial stability - Easy for rich guys
9. Parental approval - Most parents would not say no to a rich guy from the upper class dating their daughter.
10. Family man - Rich guys can do that too. Rich doesn't mean working 100 hours a week for the rest of their lives. Rich guys work smart, not hard. So they have plenty of time for family. Also they have assistants remember.

Is it Mom or Dad? Your experience meeting theirs and bringing someone home to meet yours? I was raised by my grandparents but I think its the same. My grandma was always harsher but her mind was easier to change. My grandpa is very easygoing but when he came to a conclusion that was usually it. He'd let me do what I d want but his mind was pretty much set. Personally, that carried over for the girls who introduced me to there parents. If she was raised by a single mother it seemed to be one or the other but firm. Either I could do nothing to gain her approval or she loved as if I were own almost right away. Thank you all!
