I was browsing Craigslist to buy a massage table I was interested in. The massage table was advertised at $80. I e-mailed the owner of the item and wanted to negotiate it to be sold for $60.

He e-mailed me a few minutes later saying I could have it for free and that "it was just sitting there." I asked him once more if he was sure if he wanted to give it to me for free, and he said yes.

Excited, I e-mailed him back and he e-mailed me "his" address. He also instructed me to ask for a Hazel Ann when I arrived at location of the address.

30 minutes later, I paid a visit to the house. An elderly woman opened the door and I had asked her if Hazel Ann was here. She had a scared and confused look on her face. She replied saying "Hazel Ann" has been dead for nine years. You're scaring me. Goodbye." She then promptly shut the door in my face. As I was leaving her driveway, she cracked the door open just a little bit and stared at me. She seemed very frightened. It also seemed like she wanted to call the police on me.

The person who posted the ad not only wasted my time and gas money, but made me frighten an elderly lady. Through me, he has successfully managed to harass this poor woman. Later on, the person who posted this ad e-mailed me saying "Since you low balled me, the massage table is now $300. Also, that is not my address."

I still have the e-mails he has sent me as proof. I can't believe this guy made me drive all the way down to some random lady's house as some kind of prank or whatever... This is clearly harassment to the first degree.

I ruined an elderly woman's afternoon tea.
Dammit

This is fraud to the first degree.
