STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects (only consider the 'hard'/physical sciences for the 'S' part of STEM) have foundational laws that guide every task completed. There are definite right and wrong answers and you can get there by memorizing the foundational concepts. Thus, STEM majors care more about the actual answer than how you got there

Non-STEM subjects such as:
-The Professions that include Economics and other Business Related Fields (including, but not limited to, Data Sciences and Operations, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Supply Chain)

-Humanities that include Natural & Social Sciences (including, but not limited to, Psychology, Biology, Sociology, and Neuroscience) and other Humanities (History, Cultures, Philosophy, Law, International Relations, Politics, Writing, Ethics, Languages, Religion, etc.)

-Arts (Cinema, Drama, Painting & Illustration, Animation & Digital Arts, Literature, etc.)

Professions and Humanities do not have foundational laws that guide every task. There are definite answers but they change very often and critical thought must be used to understand them. Thus, it is important to understand both the answer, and how you got your answer. Art is 100% subjective so it's more about how original your answer is (and/or how the intended recipient interprets the message) and not the answer itself/how you got there.

Critical thought is a higher level brain function (developed in young adulthood over the rest of the life) whereas memorization is a very low level brain function (you have it from birth)

Knowing what you now know about the general requirements for success in STEM and non-STEM areas cited above, which do you find more impressive?

I got a call yesterday, interview tomorrow. I was stoked, my mom doesn't work thursdays so she can baby sit, perfect!
Then everything went downhill, my mom had to work, my in law was watching my niece and nephew, my babysitter had a final. Finally we decided my fiance would take a long lunch and watch the kids. Good okay that was figured out, now time for night class.
The day arrives, get daughter ready and take her to school, done. Now I need to practice because I'm VERY shy, I go to print out my resume at my in laws and my sister in law forgot to leave formula with my mother in law. I go to the store, come back, print out my stuff, go home, baby pooped all over himself, had to change him and give him a bath while getting ready.
I FORGOT to text my fiance to leave work so he left late which made me late. I arrive late, stressed out, didn't get to practice, I really need this job. He had taken someone who was already there and scheduled later than me. NOT a good start.
But I need to pump myself up, 'you got this, you're a great worker and you'll do good'. I go in and talk to him, I'm shy because I didn't get to really prepare myself. I sat up straight, answered questions, talked about my experience and it seemed to go okay.
He said he didn't think my experience fit the job I was applying for, but that he could put me at an entry level position. I said that would be fine and I could handle it well. After I couldn't think of my questions so I just asked about the hours. UGH. Then he told me that he was planning on hiring 25 people and that his goal was the 29th although they may not get to do it until December 11th. He said he would definitely call me Monday or Tuesday if their schedule stays on course. Does this sound like I may have gotten the job? I am still looking around because I know it's better to not rely on one interview, but it would be awesome if I did get it. Thanks for reading!
