Another fact: 10-15% of those who suffer from an eating disorder are male

Today When I was sitting in class, I thought about those statistics and that would mean that in the class room 4 people have an eating disorder. That seemed a little too high.

I want to see if the statistics I've seen in a video are correct, so I'd appreciate it if as many as possible could participate in this poll.

Disordered eating refers to a wide range of abnormal eating behaviours, many of which are shared with diagnosed eating disorders. The main thing differentiating disordered eating from an eating disorder is the level of severity and frequency of behaviours.

Disordered eating behaviours and attitudes include:

Binge eating
Dieting
Skipping meals regularly
Self-induced vomiting
Obsessive calorie counting
Self-worth based on body shape and weight
Fasting or chronic restrained eating
Unbalanced eating (e.g. restricting a major food group such as ‘fatty’ foods or carbohydrates)
Laxative, diuretic, enema misuse
Steroid and creatine use – supplements designed to enhance athletic performance and alter physical appearance
Using diet pills

For the comment section: Do you think the definition for disordered eating is too broadly defined or correctly defined?

I weight 200 pounds and I'm 5'11 tall. Yeah I know I'm overweight. I was underweight when I had anorexia, then I got depressed and anorexia switched to binge eating disorder and now I look like a whale.
I'm recovering from depression now and I'm trying to lose weight. But right now I'm too ashamed to leave the house because Im fat. I'm afraid that people will stare and laugh at me.

What do you think when you see a fat person trying to exercise? Do you laugh because they look clumsy? And if you have tips about losing weight, please share them.
