Search Results: reading signals wrong

I get asked out a lot - that's not the problem. See, it's just that I don't want a quick f*ck, but a longer term relationship and I am happy to take it slower too...

I simply find whenever I ask out a guy I like, he doesn't "get it". He always tends to react in a friendship manner, or ignores me and a few days later asks me out. WTF?! Am I reading signals wrong? How am I *supposed* to ask a guy out? Or is it better to not ask a guy out at all?

I'm not sure whether or not this guy is into me. I gave him my number weeks ago and since then we talk all the time. He's a big guy smiley when I see him and sometimes gets red in the face. When I'm around, he rushes over for a hug and cheek kisses, we talk, he stares into my eyes all the time and giggles, etc.

He is also *constantly* asking to hang out. Like "we should go out for dinner and drinks" or "hey, you're doing a thing? I should come too!" all that stuff.

Sounds like a slam dunk, right? But he rarely ever calls or texts me, and when I see him, he's constantly on his phone. He doesn't make any extra effort after he's done with work, either, to come see me (he ends work earlier than I do-- we aren't co-workers, we're just in the same building. But he won't go out of his way to say bye to me). Basically we only talk really if I'm passing by on my way to work and decide to stop or if I'm leaving and he's on my way out.

He works 6 days or 7 days a week, most of those elsewhere, so that means we only see each other two or three days a week- so when I tell him to tell me (call me, text me, whatever) to say when he's free, it confuses me when he never does when he's genuinely adamant about us going out somewhere at some point.

So what do you think? Is this just a matter of conflicting schedules? Am I reading wrong? Is he just not that into me? What do you think?
