Does he like me or am I reading his signals wrong?

This situation has been going for a over a month now. I've met this very stern and serious looking man at the gym. The first time I started to take notice of him was because I had said I would do one of the classes he teaches. But I didn't go to it. To which he came and questioned me about it a few days later. Which I found quiet strange as he doesn't ever talk to me. Once the conversation was over he went to cycle then came back near me and started working out behind me when there was room on either side of me. I had to stop my workout and ask him if he had enough room. But he continued his workout. When I did his class for the first he asked me if I enjoyed and I said yes. The following week my friend did it with me. Only this time he asked me the next day how I found the class again. He asked me how my friend found. I found that strange as he does speak to her and he sees her more than me. He was having a banter with and tried to guess my age and my name. Once I told him he had a big smile on his face. He then mentioned to me that he does another class and I should do that one. I found that weird as he didn't mention it to my friend and just me. I went away on my hols I missed two session when I got back one of his friends was winding him up about me saying I said his class was easy and he replied back saying you've missed 2 classes and just smiled and he amused that I was going to do his class. But I didn't and so the next day he asked me where I was? Why ask? The following week I did his class but he was very surprise to see me and asked if I was doing his class. Throughout the class he was tease me. Pretend he didn't know my name and doing childish things. The following week he went out of his way to ask me if I was doing his class again. I gave him a sarcastic answer. Throughout the class he was being very attentive towards me and watching me a lot longer than others. Teasing me again. The following week he was the total opposite totally cold. No eye contact. Nothing! Following week comes and sits next to me. Goes out of his way to cross my path. Watch me when I'm talking to someone. My friend who does the class comes there to mess about and so I said to him that if she does the class I won't do it anymore to which he responded back saying well its your loss? How? I've only done 6 classes with a break in between. I don't understand his game? Does he like me or I'm I reading it wrong? Help I'm confused!

Thanks duvexy! The problem is I've been going there for 5 years and in all that time I've never spoke to him. I keep myself to myself. I'm not in there long enough for anyone to talk to me. I just find his behavior very odd!? I don't get the my loss answer? How is it my loss? I'm not the easiest person to talk to as I'm very shy.

Queenbeatris yes your totally right he is a right so and so! But all his done is made me run away! I really thought he was really lovely person till he started this nonsense. Is just trying to get my attention? Cheek to say its my loss!
