Heavens only knows why so many men like prissy feminine women, i've had my fill of it (2, was all i could stomach) and here is my take on it: if feminine women were all that was left, i'd gladly spend the rest of my life single, i feel nothing but annoyed and repulsed by them. It annoys me to no end how all relationship sites, blogs, and dating advices assumes every man likes that kind of woman, that's hogwash. Even though i'm a manly guy i'll never understand (nor do i want to) why the majority of men want a Barbie-like woman, if i wanted something submissive and mindless i'd buy a dog. I find women who don't wear dresses or gowns, shovel makeup, nag about pointless shit, spend 5 hours doing their hair, nails putting ritzy stuff and god knows what else, play "games" and instead just cut the bs and speak what's on their mind, to be much more attractive than feminine women, and i also think women who are tough, like hard sci-fi, racing and basically anything seen as masculine are even more beautiful. the less "ladylike" the more attractive, but, unfortunately, due to social expectations women who otherwise would of turned this way are cajoled into being the feminine or "normal" woman. When it comes to romantic relationships i tend to group women into two 1):Tomboys and 2):get the hell away from me. It's such a shame that the former is more rare than (and just as precious as) water in the Sahara desert , i guess i'll just have to keep being thirsty for the years to come...

This question pertains to the expectations of women using dating sites and apps. I am a fit, successful 30 year old man who has never engaged in sexual intimacy. I am curious as to what portion of said demographic active with these media would appreciate the virtue of a man seeking a deep emotional connection with a prospective partner. It is worth noting that I am agnostic and my abstainance has stemmed from no dogmatic influence or externally imposed set of values. I have just been very selective in my romantic pursuits and to date, unsuccessful.

What's more, I am confounded by the reality of modern hook-up culture wherein causual sexual encounters see parties use and discard the other toward their own selfish ends. The apparent predominance of this practice has me sorrowfully disheartened and discouraged, as I am unable to disassociate the concepts of passion and love. It has been my struggle to reconcile satisfaction of my carnal urges within the context of a relationship. It is my hope that a fair proportion of the adult female population exudes both the patience, willingness, and moral fortitude to discover a higher sexual experience through love.

I have personally never struggled expressing my interest in other people.
Typically, I will let my interest be known in a nonchalant and non-oppressive manner as soon as I acknowledge it internally.

It is the smallest amount of "initiation" I'm comfortable doing because I acknowledge that the average person might not be as comfortable expressing themselves as I am. (due to the combination of internal and external factors such as "norms" and "social expectations")

This way, the other person doesn't have to face any uncertainty, should they develop an interest in me as well and even if they aren't a particularly confident person discerning their attitude towards me becomes much easier. (both ways)
But at the same time I'm not setting myself up for rejection and I'm not imposing any sort of obligation on them to provide me with "an answer", they are free to process things at their own pace and should they never develop anything towards me they can simply do nothing and our relationship can remain completely unaffected.

With those who I have never expressed my interest about, I find it more difficult to "see the signs".
But then again, we don't really try to see signs in people who we don't feel personally invested in anyway.
