My husband and I have been married for two months. I cheated on him about 2 years ago in the early days, and after we talked and I tried leaving him because I knew he never really would forgive me, we decided to stay together and work through it, and he surprised me with a marriage proposal this past summer. We had talked about it, but I didn't know if he was ready. Well, 2 months later almost every time we drink and party and hang out, he constantly brings up divorce and says he's unhappy and depressed, and doesn't really work on our relationship. I've done everything I can to show him I want to build trust and that it's never going to happen again, but I feel it's not working. He will say he loves me and say he wants to be with me forever, and I understand this doesn't go away in a day but he's also running my emotions all over the place. He has agreed to go to counseling, and I hope it helps. Some of the issues behind my actions were because of things he was doing and the majority was just selfishness and emotional shut down on my end.

While my friends and family were happy to celebrate Australia day yesterday.
I'm just remembering that it's been a year today when my husband decided that he'd try to have an affair.
We've stayed together with the help of some marriage counseling and we are doing really well. He knows that I'm struggling with my emotions at the moment because we talked about it last night.
He is sorry for what he has done and I have forgiven but it's much harder to forget.
