Search Results: poor mental health

So recently my father passed away (mid 50's; dementia). For the last year or so he was completely gone, Didn't know who I was, where he was, and was just kind of running on auto-pilot. Lights were on but nobody was home. Growing up he was a good dad. I mean nothing special; we were poor so we never had a magical family road trip to Disney world or anything. But he was always there and he was always fair & reasonable; overall a good man. So when he died my mom called me (I live out of state) and she was crying and I was just completely numb about the whole thing. People die, it's what they do. The conversation literally went like this:
-Mom: You're dad just passed away (sobbing)
-Me: Ok
-Mom: Are you ok?
-Me: Yeah I'm ok.
-Mom: Ok.
-Me: (awkward silence) yeah... ok I'll talk to you later.

Not a single tear on my behalf, didn't get choked up or whatever, it just made sense. He was old, he died, that's it. We donated his body for research so there was no funeral or anything. So that was literally it. I don't feel any different.

So long story but simple question; am I cold hearted or is this normal in any sense? I feel like I should be sad or something but to me it's just the way it is. I kind of feel like an ax murder or something with no regard for humanity. I'd imagine the mental health community has a label for me. Thoughts?
